Biography

Dr. Nick Eaves studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo where he obtained his BASc. After completing his BASc, he join the Combustion Research Lab at the University of Toronto (UofT) where he investigated the effects of high pressure and reversibility on soot formation processes as part of his MASc. and Ph.D. thesis work. During his time at UofT, he held a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Canadian Graduate Scholarship (CGS-D), two Ontario Graduate Scholarships, and two institutional awards. For his postdoctoral activities, Dr. Eaves has been awarded a NSERC Post-doctoral Fellowship (PDF). The award is given to outstanding Canadian post-doctoral researchers to pursue a defined research program at Canadian and International institutions. Dr. Eaves plans to utilize the NSERC PDF to investigate particulate formation from combustion engines and laboratory flames using detailed models utilizing ODE-based and stochastic-based methods. Additionally, he is part of the PEMS4Nano research consortium. He has published 7 journal articles and gave 2 invited seminars and 9 conference presentations.
