Felix Mocanu

Biography
Felix is a Research Associate working on digital reticular chemistry.
He is a graduate of Natural Sciences and has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, as a member of Churchill College.
His PhD was part of the CDT in Computational Methods for Materials Science where he worked on developing machine-learned interatomic potentials for phase-change memory materials used in neuromorphic computing applications.
He has held postdoctoral positions working on:
- The atomistic modelling of semiconductor quantum-dots (CAPE, Cambridge) for display and smart-textile technologies as part of the ERC "1D-Neon" project.
- Low-temperature anomalies in glassy systems (LPENS, Paris), as part of the Simons Foundation collaboration on "Cracking the glass problem" and ERC "Glass Universality" projects.
- High-energy density cathode materials for Li-ion batteries (Materials, Oxford) as part of the Faraday Institution "CATMAT" project.
His interests include:
- Quantum mechanical modelling of atomistic systems
- Statistical mechanics of disordered systems
- AI for Science
