Pooya Azadi
Post Doc
Biography
Pooya is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the CoMo Group, Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. His primary research interests fall into the areas of sustainable low carbon energy and catalytic processes. More specifically, his research includes the production of liquid biofuels and hydrogen from lignocellulose and microalgae feedstock, life cycle assessment of biofuels, and the use of solar energy in biomass conversion processes.
Pooya previously conducted research on the life cycle carbon footprint of algal biofuels at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment University of Oxford under the supervision of Professor Sir David King and Dr. Oliver Inderwildi. Also, he had the opportunity to visit and work with Professor James Dumesic at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Professor Otomo at the University of Tokyo during his doctoral studies.
Ph.D. (2012): Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto. Supervisor: Professor Ramin Farnood.
M.A.Sc. (2007) Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto. Supervisors: Professor Ramin Farnood & Professor Ning Yan.
B.A. Sc.(2005) Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Tehran.
