Astrid Ramirez Hernandez

Biography

I studied chemical engineering at the National University of Colombia (Medellín-Colombia) between 2003-2009. I will be finishing my two years Master Program in December of 2011, on a thesis with the title: “A model for the prediction of coke deposition during thermal cracking of light hydrocarbons”. My studies are supported by the National University scholarship, Colciencias scholarship and the Colombian Petroleum Company (Ecopetrol). I conducted a three-month research stay at the Computational Modeling (CoMo) group in Cambridge in the middle of 2011. My research interests include: Energy efficiency, Combustion, Gasification, Pyrolysis process and formation of Soot and Coke.
