Best Paper Award (Fundamentals) for Dr Yong Ren TAN, Prof Markus KRAFT and coworkers

Congratulations to Dr Yong Ren Tan, Dr Tong Su, Dr Harikrishnan B, Prof Epaminondas Mastorakos and Prof Markus Kraft on winning the Best Paper Award (Fundamentals) for “Effect of Partially Cracked Ammonia on Soot Formation in Ethylene Laminar Flames" at the 5th Symposium on Ammonia Energy in Santiago, Chile! Their work shows that soot in cracked-ammonia co-firing does not follow a simple trend, i.e. ammonia suppresses soot, but hydrogen promotes it as cracking increases, while NOx falls steadily. The cracking ratio must therefore be chosen with both pollutants in mind.
