PhD studentship available

30 March 2011

A fully-funded 3.5 year PhD studentship sponsored by Huntsman Tioxide is available in the Computational Modelling Group, Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

The project will combine the application of computational quantum chemistry, kinetic Monte Carlo and stochastic particle methods to investigate the flame synthesis of titanium dioxide nanoparticles. The research will make extensive use existing modelling tools and advanced web technology, for example RDF and XSLT. The Computational Modelling Group has considerable expertise and a proven track record of success in these areas and the successful applicant will benefit from the support of an experienced supervisor and research team.

The Computational Modelling group currently has members from various backgrounds including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering. If you have an excellent academic track record and are interested to work in the CoMo group then get in touch to find out more. Funds are limited to home/EU students. Further information is available on the University website.
