Laurence McGlashan wins best speaker prize

31 March 2010

PTSG Laurence McGlashan has won the department prize for best presentation after giving a talk on his research. This year's graduate conference was an opportunity for final year PhD students to discuss results of their work and investigate avenues for collaboration.

Laurence's work involves modelling particle formation and transport in reactive flows. After the 35 minute presentation to the department, researchers were invited to ask questions. This forced the speakers to think on their feet and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the material.
