UK/EU Studentship in Computational Chemical Engineering

23 April 2015

A fully-funded 3.5 year PhD studentship is available in the Computational Modelling Group, Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Markus Kraft. The studentship starts in October 2015, and due to funding regulations, the studentship/project is only available to citizens of the European Union.

We are looking for an outstanding student who is interested in working with us to develop and apply state-of-the-art computational tools to model the combustion characteristics and engine performance of naturally aspirated and turbocharged gasoline fuelled internal combustion engines. The project will investigate phenomena including the chemical reactions occurring in the cylinder, the influence of the geometry of the combustion chamber and intake design on the engine performance.

The Computational Modelling Group has considerable expertise and a proven track record of success in these areas, and the successful applicant will benefit from the support of an experienced supervisor and research team.
