IChemE workshop great success

The first IChemE Particle Technology Subject Group workshop held by the CoMo group proved useful and engaging to all in attendance. 'Population balance modelling for particle processes' provided an introduction to the field for both graduate students and industrialists who want to gain expertise in this rapidly advancing subject. The workshop, which ran from from 30^th June to 1^st July 2009, covered the latest advances in population balance modelling and took the participants to the cutting edge. World leading experts gave an overview of the field with emphasis on particulate processes. Prof Wolfgang Peukert from The University of Erlangen spoke alongside Prof Daniele Marchisio from Politechnico di Torino, Dr Michael Wulkow from Dr. Michael Wulkow Computing in Technology, and Dr Markus Kraft from Cambridge University. Overall, the two day workshop was an exciting opportunity for both the students, and the senior academics and industrial scientists involved.
